Electric mobile harbor crane for Flatholmen Konecranes Gottwald Generation 6 Mobile Harbor Crane will be operational on Flatholmen from 2024
Tyrholm and Farstad have entered into a contract with Konecranes for the procurement of an electric mobile harbor crane for the new terminal at Flatholmen. The crane is a Konecranes Gottwald Generation 6 Mobile Harbor Crane. The order was entered into in the third quarter of 2023, and delivery will take place in the second quarter of 2024, well before the opening of the new terminal.
"Our new terminal is an important investment for the future of the company, and we need efficient and sustainable solutions that can contribute going forward. The mobile crane will increase the efficiency and breadth of operations we can carry out at the new terminal, and will also be an important link to our investment in electrifying the equipment park. The future-oriented technical solutions found in this crane together with the service package from Konecranes' agent in Norway were decisive for choosing the crane." says general manager Jan Arve Hoseth.
The mobile harbor crane will mainly be used for loading and unloading container ships, but will also be able to be used in other lifting operations at the new terminal.
